Mancini: it's great that we're in the lead, but "Man Utd" remains the favorite © EuroFootball.com

After the victory in the Manchester derby, strategist Roberto Mancini did not rush to triumph, while training, Sir Alex Ferguson admitted the advantage of the opponents.

The only goal in the match just before the major break was scored by Vincent Kompany. Thanks to him, the team has the same number of points in the tournament table, but "Man City" occupies the first place due to a better goal difference of eight.

"The victory is wonderful, but we have two difficult matches ahead, and "Man Utd" has two easy matches," Mancini said. "That's why the opponents remain favorites, as both "Swansea" and "Sunderland" have nothing to fight for. I am glad that we are first in the tournament table, but it doesn't change anything."

"Man City" will play away against "Newcastle", fighting for a ticket to the Champions League, and will host the London team "Queens Park Rangers", which aims to stay in the "Premier" League.

About the match, the Italian said: "All the away players played behind the ball, there was only one attacker on the field. They wanted a draw - it's an unusual style, but we deserved the victory."

Meanwhile, Ferguson noted: "We did not create enough problems for the 'Man City' goalkeeper, although we dominated the first 15 minutes. Later, we started waiting for the break and were punished for it.

"I can't complain about the result, the hosts posed more of a threat with fast attacks. The result is bad because now 'Man City' is in control of the situation - they just need to win the remaining two matches."

The Scot did not forget the conflict with Mancini at the end of the second half: "He was complaining to the referee and the fourth official throughout the match. Similar complaints continued for over a week, but now there is no reason for that."
