Strategist Roberto Mancini admits that the club that acquired Robin van Persie is the favorite to win the English Premier League.
Last season, the 'Red Devils' lost their throne to Mancini's pupils, but this summer they brought in a threatening tandem with Wayne Rooney that will include Van Persie, costing more than 30 million euros.
"Van Persie was the best striker in the league last season," said Mancini. "Together with Rooney, they will form one of the best duos in the championship. So last week, when I named 'Man Utd' as the favorite, I was speaking seriously."
The Italian also added that the 'Man Utd' team has more experience: "They have been fighting for the title for the past 20 years. We won't be able to change that in one year. In addition, any team that acquires Van Persie would strengthen. I thought he would stay at 'Arsenal' or move to another club, because we have four strikers, so there was no room for the Dutchman."
