Diego Maradona resigns from the position of the coach of the Argentina national team.

The legendary footballer admitted that he wanted to stay in the position after a conversation with the president of the country's football association (AFA) Julio Grondona, but refused to comply with the executive committee's requirement - to change several members of the coaching staff.

"If they try to touch even a single hair of one of my team members, whether it's a masseuse or a person in charge of the uniforms, I'm leaving," Maradona said on "El Show de Futbol."

In the recently concluded World Cup, the Argentinians were defeated 0-4 by Germany in the quarterfinals.
