This summer, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Barcelona, told journalists from the German newspaper "Bild" about his new life stage in Catalonia.
The goalkeeper also shared his thoughts on his debut at the Catalan club, its leaders, the unfortunate injury suffered at the beginning of the season, and the not very successful Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.
When asked about Lionel Messi and Neymar, the German did not miss the opportunity to joke: "I can guarantee that both of them are normal people. Messi and Neymar eat, drink, and go to the bathroom. Seriously, they are both great people, always ready to help, and that is what matters to me right now."
Marc-Andre ter Stegen noted that he has settled well in Barcelona, although the beginning was not very easy.
"I trained hard and persistently, and maybe I had the chance to play more, but then I suffered that unfortunate hip injury. It happened at a very inappropriate moment, right at the beginning of the season. Well, injuries happen at the wrong time and place," the footballer said.
The German still rejoiced that he started both Champions League matches in the starting lineup of Barcelona, which, according to the player, was a very valuable experience for him.
However, in the second round match against Paris Saint-Germain, Marc-Andre had to pull the ball out of his net three times, but even such failure did not affect the goalkeeper.
"I look at everything realistically and soberly. I am preparing for future matches and will make conclusions regardless of what is written in the media," assured the goalkeeper.
