"Marca": Madrid's "Real" strengthens the defense line in winter

This season, the wave-playing Madrid "Real" club will fix the gaps left in the summer transfer window.

Despite fairly successful performances in the Spanish league, where they currently occupy first position, Madrid "Real" did not achieve a victory in the first two matches of the UEFA Champions League - only setbacks and draws.

Because of this inconsistency, Zinedine Zidane is under pressure from the Spanish media.

As reported by Marca, Madrid "Real" will not wait for the next season and will try to acquire at least one new midfielder in the winter. They strengthened their attack and defense in the summer, but neglected the central midfield position.

Currently, the irreplaceable midfielders are Toni Kroos and Casemiro, while Luka Modric has faced physical problems and inconsistent performances at the start of the season.

According to the mentioned publication, in January "Real" will focus on Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen.

There is only six months left until Eriksen's contract expires, so Spurs would consider selling him for a symbolic amount. The situation with D. van de Beek is a bit more complicated - the player himself has confirmed that he does not plan to change teams in the middle of the season.

Players like Marcos Roco and Fabian Ruiz have also caught Real's attention.
