According to one of the largest Spanish newspapers "Marca", former Brazilian national team and Madrid club defender Roberto Carlos should sign a contract with Istanbul at the beginning of next week.
The 33-year-old left-back rejected a new one-year contract offered by the "Royal" club and the opportunity to wear the shirt of London during the World Cup. The latter are currently focused on negotiations with another defender of an English team, Ashley Cole.
R.Carlos, who started his career at "Palmeiras" in 1992, signed a contract with Milan in 1995, but a year later agreed to move to Madrid. In Spain, the Brazilian played for the last ten years, during which he played almost 350 matches and scored 44 goals.
After losing their longtime main defender, the leaders of "Real", according to unofficial information, may enter into a battle for the same A.Cole. However, there are more realistic reports in the press that the new president, Ramon Calderon, would like to see the excellent Frenchman Erica Abidal in his team.
