Doctors revealed a surprising reason why Marcelo could have felt unexpected pain. It turns out it may be related to the hotel bed where the footballer slept.
"It's too early to talk about exact prognosis, but the pain could be related to the bed where the footballer slept," said one doctor.
"It could be muscle spasms. Marcelo is now under observation and as soon as he feels better, he will be able to play," he added.
Marcelo himself reassured fans with a message on social media: "Thank you for your attention. I'll be back soon. We should be glad that nothing serious happened."
Brazil is set to face Mexico in the round of 16 on Monday.
