Marcelo: "I don't think we need any more rookies"

Starting his 13th season with Madrid's "Real" club, 31-year-old Marcelo believes that the team is already perfectly assembled.

This summer, spending about 300 million euros on new players, the capital club is still being linked to Neymar and a few midfielders. Nevertheless, Marcelo is convinced that the team is fully prepared to compete in its current composition.

"We know that we have a good team," the Brazilian told the "Mundo Deportivo" publication.

"It is never easy to win titles, but we must focus on our work and hope that we can win everything. I don't think we need any major changes," the full-back continued.

When asked about the criticism he received especially after the last season, Marcelo added: "I'm used to it. Since the day I arrived in Madrid, there have always been talks about my performances.

I myself understand perfectly when I played well and when I did not. I know I have to put in a lot of work to return to my best athletic form. And that's what I'm doing."

This summer, Marcelo faced a new competitor in his position - Zinedine Zidane brought Ferland Mendy to the "white" ranks for 48 million euros.
