Madrid "Real" legend Marcelo claims that leaving the "royal" club does not mean the end of his career, as the Brazilian plans to continue playing. Marcelo recently turned 34, and his playing time has decreased significantly since 2019 due to injuries and the arrival of Ferland Mendy, who plays in the same position. However, at the same time, the defender promised not to hang up his boots yet, stating that he would gladly continue to play for "Real". "I will not stop playing, not now", he said. "I feel like I can still play, and facing Real Madrid will not be a problem for me. I am a huge fan of this club, but also a huge professional." Marcelo hinted at a role within the "Real" ranks after finishing his football career. After his departure from the team was officially confirmed, the player stated: "I know that this is not my last day here". Arriving in January 2007, the left-back played 546 matches for "Real" and won the Champions League five times, as well as securing six "La Liga" titles.
