The Madrid "Real" team had no trouble in the "La Liga" championship match against "Girona" and triumphed 4:1.
Even though in the 60th minute, when Marcelo was replaced, "Real" was already leading 3:1, the Brazilian was still surprised by such a coach's decision.
"I was surprised by the decision to substitute me. But I respect this coach's decision. I just wanted to keep playing because I felt 100% good.
"We are on the right track and I am sure that with each game we will improve. We played well and earned three points," said Marcelo.
However, Julen Lopetegui had a good reason to replace the full-back.
"We wanted to strengthen that side and focus on aerial duels, as our opponents in the second half were very good," the strategist revealed.
