"Real" Madrid defender Marcelo remains positive and believes that his team is not inferior to "Barcelona" despite the defeat in last night's El Clasico.
The "Royal" club's lead in the "La Liga" tournament table was eliminated after a dramatic battle in which the Catalans triumphed with a score of 3-2.
The decisive goal came in extra time from Lionel Messi, his second of the match. The sniper saved his team after James Rodriguez equalized the score for the Madrid players playing with one man less due to the dismissal of Sergio Ramos.
"Everyone expects a lot from El Clasico. We did everything we could to win or even draw with one player less, but in the end, we conceded a goal," Marcelo said.
"We did a great job and we leave with our heads held high. We are in a good position in both tournaments and we will continue to work as we have done so far. This setback does not make us inferior."
"Ultimately, a few mistakes and small details decided everything, not just counterattacks. I do not share opinions about the referees, but dismissals affect the team because they leave you with one player less."
"We do not dwell on winning, nor are we disappointed after a defeat."
It is important to mention that, although "Barca" now has the same number of points as the "Real" club, the latter has played one less match.
