Marcelo: We Feel Just as Bad as After Losing 1:7 to Germany

The veteran of the Brazilian national team Marcelo did not hide his emotions after yet another fairly early exit from the World Cup.

The five-time world champions will not lift the most important football trophy this year - the Brazilians lost to Belgium in the quarterfinals with a score of 1:2 and finished their performance in the tournament.

In 2014, the Brazilians reached the semi-finals, but there hopelessly lost to Germany with a score of 1:7. One of the best defenders in the world said that the failure against Belgium is just as painful.

"It's a terrible night that will be hard to forget. I feel as bad as after the tragic match against Germany. That feeling is simply terrible," the defender said.

"Sometimes football is unfair - once it's on your side, and another time luck simply turns away from you. We were one big family in these championships.

Even those who watched the matches from the bench felt appreciated in our team. We felt we could reach the final, but once again we are disappointed," Marcelo added.
