Marijampolės 'Sūduva' – the sole leaders of the championship

After the 2nd round of the "TOPsport A League," the only team that has not lost any points is Marijampolė's "Sūduva." Playing at home, the Marijampolė team dramatically defeated Gargždai's "Banga" - 1:0 (0:0).

In the first 45 minutes, "Banga" did not have a single dangerous shot, while on the other side, Kota Sakurai just missed reaching the ball near the goal, and Sidy Sanokho attempted to test his luck from a distance in an impressive situation.

There were more events in the second half of the match. Idris Momoh headed the ball just next to the crossbar, Žygimantas Baltrūnas's powerful long-range shot rattled the goal frame, and S. Sanokho's attempt was masterfully denied by Mantas Bertašius.

The more active hosts achieved their goal in the 90th minute. Having successfully played on the right flank, Henry Uzochukwu found Nojus Lukšys, who had come on as a substitute in the penalty area— the forward scored accurately with his head. Soon after, "Banga" created their best opportunity; however, Matas Ramanauskas failed to direct the ball into the goal area.

With 6 points, the Marijampolė team climbed to 1st place, while "Banga" has 3 points and is positioned in the middle of the league table.
