Marotta: Amauri Refused to Leave "Juventus" © EuroFootball.com

The sporting director of Juventus, Giuseppe Marotta, admitted that the team's forward, Amauri, refused to leave the club.

"The month of January is more difficult than ever - the team has serious problems in the attacking line, so we tried to sell the thirty-year-old Brazilian and buy a stronger forward in his place.

"We received several offers and presented them to Amauri, but today he announced that he wants to stay with Juventus," said Moratta. "We cannot change the player's decision, so we have to accept it."

The player's stubbornness led the team's fans to lose patience. Yesterday, during the "Serie A" match between Juventus and Udinese, chants demanding Amauri's departure from Turin could be clearly heard from the stands.

Today is the last day of the transfer window and the club Cagliari confirmed that Juventus is interested in their forward Alessandro Matri.

"We cannot afford to waste large sums of money. We can only loan players. Matri is probably one of the few players we can attract to the team, but not under the conditions set by Cagliari," revealed Marotta.
