"Marseille" lost to "Caen" at home (VIDEO)

Today, the first match of the 27th round of "Ligue 1" was played, and in it, the "Marseille" football players experienced an unexpected defeat.

Marcelo Bielsa's students failed to resist against the team in the middle of the table, "Caen," at home.

Although Michy Bathuayi missed a penalty in the third minute, the first two thirds of the match did not promise anything bad for the hosts. Just before the break, "Marseille" took the lead with a goalkeeper-deflected ball sent into the net by Andre Ayew. In the 18th minute of the second half, Andre-Pierre Gignac doubled the lead.

However, the visitors found strength within themselves to recover. In the 67th minute, after a corner kick, Nicolas Seube sent the ball into the top corner of the goal, and three minutes later, Emiliano Sala equalized the score.

As the match was coming to an end, "Caen" managed to score a winning goal - a fabulous shot from outside the penalty area by Nicolas Benezet.

This defeat weakened "Marseille's" position in the title race, as "Lyon" and PSG, with wins, are now seven and five points ahead of the team in first and second place, respectively. Meanwhile, "Monaco" in fourth place is trailing by seven points and has played two fewer matches.
