„Marseille“ and „Reims“ closed the first round of the „Ligue 1“ season at the „Velodrome“ stadium. Marseille's team secured a relatively easy victory - 3:1. In the 13th minute, „Reims“ defender Wout Faes scored an own goal. Just before the end of the first half, the score was doubled in favor of the „Marseille“ team by „Arsenal“ loaned defender Nuno Tavares. In the second half, the team's newcomer Luis Suarez added two more goals to Igor Tudor's students. Interestingly, in these matches, two players loaned from „Arsenal“ scored goals.
