Young Martin Odegaard was supposed to become a global football sensation, but so far it hasn't happened.
At the age of 15, he debuted for his hometown team "Stromsgodset," and a few months later he put on the jersey of the Norwegian national team.
Almost all the strongest clubs in the Old Continent were interested in the services of the defender, and the athlete's odyssey across Europe ended with a lucrative contract with Real Madrid.
However, the footballer, who earned 80,000 euros per week, failed to break into the main lineup, and this season he was once again loaned out to the modest Dutch team "Heerenveen."
Speaking to the Norwegian media, M. Odegaard revealed that he managed to extend his contract with Real.
"My contract with the royal team will not end in 2018, as I signed a new document. However, for now, I would not like to reveal more details."
Foreign media strongly doubt whether M. Odegaard will ever break into the main lineup of Real, as this summer the team was further supplemented by such young talents as Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez.
