The club terminated the contract with midfielder Mathieu Flamini.
A significant part of the Frenchman's contract, who missed most of last season due to injury, was coming to an end. Although the Italian team offered to extend it for another two years, no response was received.
"Our time has passed, so we have informed Flamini's representatives that we will not wait any longer," said Milan vice president Adriano Galliani. "Therefore, we will acquire a new midfielder by the end of the summer. It could be Alberto Aquilani or someone else."
Flamini arrived in Milan in 2008 when he left London's Arsenal after the end of his contract.
