"Paris Saint-Germain" defender Maxwell believes that the current team is capable of winning the UEFA Champions League.
The Brazilian extended his contract with the French champions for another year in May, but it is likely that this season in Paris will be his last.
The 34-year-old veteran insists that PSG's goal is to finally get past the quarter-final barrier, something they have failed to do in the last three years, but also hopes to ultimately triumph in the strongest tournament on the Old Continent.
"Our goal, of course, is to go further than last year", Maxwell told RMC.
"We started the Champions League campaign well, with two victories, but in order for the situation to become even more favorable, we need to fight for points against Real Madrid."
"For some time now, we have had a lot of motivation and self-confidence. In order to go far in the Champions League, you have to give it your all. However, things can happen like last season. It all depends on the physical form and the opponents you face in a two-leg match."
"We will need the whole team to be successful. It's sad, but last year we had problems that prevented us from playing our game against "Barca". I think this year we have more chances."
Maxwell also mentioned that he is currently satisfied with his career, but in the future he will probably take on other challenges. The footballer almost assured that this is his last season in Europe.
