In the survey of the German sports magazine "Kicker", which was participated by sports journalists, Germany's Player of the Year was clearly elected as the captain of Munich, Michael Ballack.

The German national team midfielder, who helped Munich club win the double - "Bundesliga" and the German Cup - collected 516 votes, while Lukas Podolski from "Cologne", who finished in second place, received 400 votes less. The third place in the survey was taken by Berlin's "Hertha" midfielder Marcelinho.

M. Ballack received this title for the third time in four years - he was also voted the best in 2002 and 2003.

The best German coach was elected as "Bayern" coach Felix Magath.
