Former Italian national team striker terminated his contract with the team and is moving to the team where the Lithuanian national team defender successfully plays.
"This is a very painful decision, as I love this club, its fans, and the city itself," said the 31-year-old Italian, who has been playing for AS Roma since 1995. "I spent 10 wonderful years here, but I felt that at this stage of my career, I need to play constantly somewhere else."
This season, the striker played only 4 matches for AS Roma - he rarely found a place in the attacking line, where Vincenzo Montella plays so successfully this season.
So, with the Brescia club, with which he has a contract until June 2006, M. Delvecchio will now join the fight for survival in the Serie A championship.
Before coming to the Italian capital, he played for five years in the Inter Milan team, for a while was loaned to Venezia and Udinese teams. Delvecchio played 22 matches for the Italian national team and scored four goals, including one in the Euro 2000 final against France.
