Last Tuesday, before the Lithuanian national team's match in the Baltic Cup against Estonia, a meeting of the country's football community took place in Kaunas.
As told by LFF president Edgaras Stankevičius, representatives of various Lithuanian football clubs and associations participated in the meeting, exchanging opinions and impressions.
"There was a desire to bring together the Lithuanian football community, including representatives of A League clubs, First League, women's clubs, futsal, academy representatives before the Baltic Cup final. We also had an Executive Committee meeting, during which decisions relevant to the community were made," he said.
The goal is to present the federation's political matters, what has been done, what has already been accomplished, and what is planned for the near future, what are the main problematic issues so that the community is informed and able to raise questions and make appropriate decisions.
The benefit of such meetings was also appreciated by Vidmantas Murauskas, president of Marijampolė's "Sūduva" club.
Vilma Venslovaitienė, the head of Vilnius' "Žalgiris," spoke about the importance of reviewing and assessing the current situation of the country's football and determining the next steps.
Football does not stand still, everything is changing dynamically, we have to talk and think about how we can integrate all of this into Lithuanian football," she shared her thoughts.
