Just a few days ago, crowds of French people in the fields of Eliziejausk in Paris watched a parade on the occasion of Bastille Day, and on Monday, thousands of football fans once again flooded the Eliziejausk fields - excited to honor and welcome back their country's football team to France. On Sunday in Moscow, the French defeated Croatia 4:2 in the final of the World Cup and after a twenty-year break, they became the best team on the planet.
The French team flew from Moscow to Paris around 15:00, and they were accompanied by several hundred excited football fans. However, among the well-wishers were not only Russian football fans, but also Chinese, Japanese, and French people living in Moscow.
Upon the arrival of the world champions in Paris, they were first greeted by a team of airport firefighters, who sprayed water from their fire engines next to the plane to create their own water arch illusion. The players got off the plane in high spirits, waved French flags, joked around, and even carried the 7-kilogram FIFA World Cup trophy in their hands.
Seated on an open-top bus, the French team made its way to Eliziejausk fields, where they celebrated with a crowd of thousands their hard-earned gold trophy. Above the Eliziejausk fields, the country's military planes flew, painting the national colors of blue, white, and red in the sky.
After a few hours, the entire team was already at a reception with French President Emmanuel Macron. There, the team players held a musical performance: they sang the national anthem "La Marseillaise" with the President, and then Paul Pogba sang the song "Les champs - Elysees" by Joe Dassin, dedicated to the humble N'Golo Kante.
It has been reported that the French President decided to award the entire team with prestigious Legion of Honor medals. However, during the reception, there were some problems: a few fans ended up in the hospital with minor injuries in the crowd. Another incident occurred when a fan climbed a tree and someone decided to knock him down into the crowd on purpose, but the crowd did not try to catch him and the man fell to the ground. It is said that he suffered an injury and was taken to the hospital.
