"Bremen's defender Per Mertesacker will not play for more than a month due to an injury. The 25-year-old German suffered the injury while representing the national team in the qualifying match for the 2012 European Championship against Azerbaijan. Mertesacker was forced to leave the field in the 11th minute. After the match, the defender heard some less than optimistic predictions from the medical staff."
