The 35-year-old striker managed to score the fastest goal of his career in the last friendly match against Australia.
After the match, the football legend had this to say: "I enjoyed the last World Cup like never before. Honestly, if it wasn't for the success at the World Cup, I wouldn't have played for the national team anymore. I can't leave at the moment, I have to enjoy it."
Regardless of what happens along the way, you always have to try. This must be a message to the new generation who supported me so strongly and unconditionally.
"I want them to remember me first and foremost as a normal and good person, and only then as an athlete," said Lionel Messi.
