Leader Lionel Messi insists that he was not the main culprit of the victory in the Champions League final.
The best footballer on the planet scored a goal and tore apart the "Man Utd" defense, but after the match he tried to remain humble.
"Being named the best player of the match is the least important thing. The essence is that we all played great," said the 23-year-old Argentine.
We are happy that we won another trophy. The season was tough, but we once again proved who we are. We were the better team.
This season, Messi scored 12 goals in the Champions League and matched Ruud van Nistelrooy's scoring record.
"Lionel is number one. He alone changes the course of the match," praised teammate Xavi. "Messi is simply the best footballer on the planet."
