Mexes agreed to move to "Roma" © EuroFootball.com

As stated by Philippe Mexes' agent Olivier Jouanneaux, his client has already signed a four-year contract with AS Roma club. "Roma" has long been interested in this talented defender and is now very close to the goal. All that's left is for the clubs to agree on the transfer fee for the player. This is the only thing that could prevent Mexes from moving to "Serie A", as "Auxerre" is asking for 10 million euros for the player, while "Roma", teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, is not willing to pay that much for a single player. Another reason why the French club will try to keep the young talent at all costs is that "Auxerre" has already sold another key defender Jean-Alain Boumsong, and losing Mexes next season would pose serious problems in defense.
