After the match, South American team defender Nicolas Otamendi unintentionally poured fuel on the fire by sharing moments from the Argentinians' triumph in the social media.
In the video recorded, team leader Lionel Messi is seen accidentally stepping on the shin guards of a Mexican national team player lying on the ground.
This episode did not go unnoticed by the famous boxer Canelo Alvarez, who said he is ready to deal with the football star.
"I saw L. Messi cleaning the floor with our shin guards and flag. He should pray to God that I didn't find him. I will respect Argentina just as he respects the Mexican national team. I'm not talking about the whole country, I'm just talking about L. Messi's behavior," said the Mexican.
