London team was shocked by an unexpected internal blow - they expressed a desire to leave for another club in the summer.
The 23-year-old Frenchman, capable of playing in both defender and midfielder positions, discussed with his representatives the possibility of using a new FIFA rule that allows a footballer to buy out his contract himself.
"I reached the end of the line," the player told the newspaper "L'Equipe."
"I spent three years in England and my lawyers say that in June I can leave. To do this, I have to pay the club my last year's salary."
Reports suggest that M.Flamini would like to try his luck in Italy, but most importantly - he wants guaranteed playing time.
"The next three years are very important to me. I want to play and reach a new level.
"The Arsenal team is young and has good players, but at the moment I don't play many matches. This is a difficult period in my career, which raises several questions for myself.
"I most want to continue working and improving. I want to score more goals, make more assists, and ultimately win the UEFA Champions League."
It is worth reminding that M.Flamini arrived in London under controversial circumstances from his home country, and this season he played a total of 32 matches for the "Gunners", starting in only 17 of them.
