Munich's Bayern club footballer officially turned safety Mario Gotze claims that his football ideal is Lionel Messi, who has been recognized as the best player in the world four times.
It is widely speculated that the club's new strategist, Pep Guardiola, will try M. Gotze in the position of a "false nine". A similar role is played by L. Messi in the game of the Barcelona team.
"Messi is an ideal for everyone, including me," said the German during his presentation.
"I don't think the transfer fee will put any extra pressure on me. As a 21-year-old footballer, I should be proud of such things," he continued.
"Looking back, it wasn't easy when news spread about my decision to leave Borussia, but now I need to look ahead. The most important thing is to continue to improve, and that's what I wanted to do at Bayern," said the safety.
"The first conversation with Guardiola was special. We talked about when I could return to the lineup. I watched several of his training sessions. There is a lot of focus on ball control technique and similar things," said M. Gotze.
Currently, the footballer is recovering from an injury, so he may miss the start of the upcoming season.
