One of the leaders of Borussia Dortmund, defender Mario Gotze, expressed disappointment that he failed to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against the Malaga team.
The German had two great opportunities in the first half when he found himself alone with the opponent's goalkeeper Willy Caballero, but he failed to take advantage of either of them.
"I could have helped the team achieve a great result by scoring at least once. I am ashamed that I couldn't do that. However, we are satisfied with the result, and there is still the second leg to look forward to," the German said after the match.
Meanwhile, his teammate Ilkay Gundogan said: "We played well and created several good opportunities in the opponents' fortress. Mario had three or four and usually he converts at least one. It seems like it wasn't meant to be, but it was also important to keep the goal "dry".
The second leg between these clubs will be played on Tuesday, April 9th. Prior to that, on Saturday, Borussia will host the Augsburg team at home in the German championship, where they are currently trailing the leading Bayern players by 20 points.
