Defender Alessandro Nesta dropped out of the lineup for about a month due to a shoulder injury.
"After agreeing with the player, it was decided to take all aggressive measures so that rehabilitation would not take longer than three to four weeks. If necessary, the operation is planned to be performed in the summer," the club said in a statement.
"Milan" team has recently been plagued by injuries - defenders Gennaro Gattuso and Clarence Seedorf will be unable to play for three weeks, along with defender Gianluca Zambrotta and other midfielders Kevin Prince Boateng and Andrea Pirlo.
