The Italian club "Milan" finally sorted out the formalities on Thursday and acquired and officially signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with a defender from Argentina for an undisclosed amount, who transferred from the "Racing Club" team.

The 21-year-old left-back, who was voted the best young player in the first part of the Argentine championship in 2006, caught the eye of club director Ariedo Braida while traveling through South America.

Impressed by the Argentine, he was bought for, as it is believed, 2 million euros and arrived in Italy at the end of last year, but formalities hindered the footballer from completing the transfer and officially becoming a member of "Milan."

"Grimi is young and very promising. I like the fact that not many people know him. I think he can be very useful to us," said "Milan" coach Carlo Ancelotti about the purchase.

L.Grimi already debuted for the team in a friendly match in Malta against the local "Birkirkara" club and may appear on the field in Thursday evening's Italian cup quarterfinal match against "Arezzo."
