On Sunday, nine matches of the final round of the "Serie A" championship were played.
The "Milan" club snatched victory from the "Siena" footballers in the last minutes. This victory secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round for the "Rossoneri" team.
At the same time, the "Fiorentina" footballers crushed the "Pescara" team 5 - 1. If "Milan" had lost, "Viola" would have earned a ticket to the Champions League.
The "Roma" club defeated the vice champions "Napoli" 2 - 1. The winning goals were scored by Marquinho and Mattia Destro, while Edinson Cavani scored for the Napoli team.
Three favorite teams ended the championship with a defeat. Marius Stankevicius' "Lazio" club lost to "Cagliari" away, while "Inter" had to acknowledge the superiority of "Udinese" in front of their own fans.
On Saturday evening, the title-winning "Juventus" footballers also experienced defeat. The champions had to admit the superiority of "Sampdoria" with a score of 3 - 2.
Straight to the group stage of the Champions League go the "Juventus" and "Napoli" clubs, while the "Milan" team will have to go through the qualifying round.
In the Europa League, Italy will be represented by the "Fiorentina" and "Udinese" clubs, while "Siena," "Palermo," and "Pescara" were relegated to "Serie B."
