The 12th round of the Bundesliga championship started on Friday evening.
Not in the best mood after the national team break, Borussia Dortmund started confidently in the season but now find themselves in a deep hole: losing to the Stuttgart team and experiencing their fourth failure in the last five matches.
Stuttgart gained the advantage in the 5th minute, when Chadrac Akolo scored a precise shot past the visiting goalkeeper.
However, after an early missed goal, Borussia stood up and pressed their opponents. In the 45th minute, Andre Schurrle converted a penalty kick, but Maximilian Phillip managed to equalize from a difficult situation.
But Stuttgart did not falter after the goal - at the start of the second half, Josip Brekalo put Stuttgart back in the lead. BVB could not save themselves in the remaining time, and the hosts celebrated a crucial victory.
The leaders of Borussia should seriously consider changes - BVB has not been able to secure a victory in five consecutive matches. During these matches, the Dortmund team lost to their opponents four times and once enjoyed a draw.
BVB remains in third place, but after this round they could potentially drop to 6th or 7th position.
