Former Turin "Juventus" and Italy national team defender Mark Iuliano is returning to play in his homeland. The experienced player terminated his contract with a Spanish club and signed a contract with Genoa until the end of the season.
32-year-old M. Iuliano became a legionnaire for the first time in his career a year ago, after spending eight and a half seasons at "Juventus", during which he became Italian champion four times, he moved to the Spanish championship to join the team struggling for survival, "Mallorca".
Having played 15 matches in half a season last year, M. Iuliano managed to help his team avoid relegation. This year, in 14 matches, he had already scored three goals, but with "Mallorca" struggling at the bottom of the table, he expressed his desire to return to Italy for family reasons.
Arriving in Genoa on Thursday, the player will join the team coached by Walter Novellino. The arrival of the defender likely means that Simone Pavanas, who currently plays for "Sampdoria" in the same position, will move to the team "Bologna" playing in a lower league.
