Serbia's national team striker Mateja Kežman will most likely move to Istanbul in the near future. This was announced on Saturday on his current club's website in Madrid.

"Atletico" Madrid and "Fenerbahce" have agreed on Mateja Kežman's transfer," the club's website states.

"Atletico" says that whether the transfer will take place will depend on "Fenerbahce" fulfilling the payment guarantees. The Madrid club hopes that the transfer will take place on Monday.

The 27-year-old striker, who lost his place in the national team after a poor performance in the World Cup, arrived at "Atletico" from London's "Chelsea" in June 2005.

Scoring 105 goals in 123 matches while playing for Eindhoven's "PSV," the Serbian striker only managed to score eight times in over 30 matches for "Atletico."

With the arrival of young Argentine Sergio Aguero and Spaniard Mistai to the Spanish capital club in the summer, M. Kežman's chances of playing on the field decreased significantly, so it was decided to accept "Fenerbahce"'s offer.

"Atletico" also confirmed that until the end of the transfer window on Thursday, they still hope to acquire Arsenal striker Jose Antonio Reyes and Portugal's national team defender Maniche from Moscow's "Dynamo."
