The scandal has shaken the Southampton club playing in the Premier League of the United Kingdom, wrote lrytas.lt.
The star of this team, Frenchman Mario Lemina, was fined the highest penalty for speeding in the country's history.
The 25-year-old footballer will have to pay a fine of 106,000 euros and his driving license will be suspended for a year.
The biggest fine until then had been received by the famous television personality Anthony McPartlin, who was caught drunk driving in April of this year. He then paid a fine of 95,000 euros.
M.Lemina received such a penalty when he failed to provide evidence to the police three times about who was driving his "Mercedes-AMG GLA45" car.
