Italian Marcello Lippi is returning to the position of head coach of the Chinese national team. The country's press reports that the 71-year-old Italian will replace his compatriot Fabio Cannavaro, who left the position after two matches. According to the media, the agreement with M. Lippi will consist of two parts - initially, his main task will be to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, and later to advance to the semi-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup. M. Lippi has been working in China since 2012, when he took over at Guangzhou Evergrande. He coached the national team of this country from 2016 to 2019.
