"Monaco" ambitions are growing: the club aiming to rise among the European elite is acquiring striker Radamel Falcao for 60 million euros, as reported by the Spanish press.
The Colombian, who has failed to attract teams such as "Man Utd" and London's "Chelsea", is expected to arrive in France in the near future and undergo a medical examination. He would join Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez, for whom "Monaco" recently paid around 70 million euros.
The club's source of wealth is Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, who intends to strengthen the team that won the French league second only to Paris Saint-Germain with at least four more players of this caliber. According to the magazine "Forbes", in 2012 he ranked 119th among the richest people in the world with a fortune of 9.1 billion dollars.
"Yes, negotiations with Falcao are nearing completion," said "Monaco" coach Claudio Ranieri's assistant Jean Petitas. "We hope that he will help attract other high-caliber players - we hope for four or five more players of his level."
In the Spanish championship, with only one round left, Falcao is the third top scorer with 28 goals, surpassed only by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi."
