On Saturday, postponed French football championship "Ligue 1" match was played, where the top teams in the standings "Monaco" and "Lille" faced each other.

2 - 0

65' [1 - 0] Sebastien Squillaci

90' [2 - 0] Emmanuel Adebayor

In the 90th minute, Efstathios Tavlaridis ("Lille") was sent off the field.

Both teams started the match cautiously, as victory in these matches was of great importance for both teams in the fight for a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League tournament.

After a goalless first half, in the 65th minute, "Monaco" defender Sebastien Squillaci led his team ahead. After this goal, "Lille" could not recover and at the end of the match, they conceded another - Emmanuel Adebayor doubled the difference in the final minute of the match.

"Lille" had to finish the match with ten men, as their defender Efstathios Tavlaridis was sent off the field in the 90th minute for a second yellow card.

After this victory, "Monaco" reduced their gap from "Lille", who are second in the standings, to a minimum, while "Lille" almost lost their theoretical chances to fight for the title, as in order to win their fourth consecutive championship title, "Lyon" only needs to earn at least one point in the remaining four matches.
