"Monaco" vice president Vadim Vasilyev confirmed that after two years of work, coach Claudio Ranieri will leave the club.

The 62-year-old Italian will leave the French vice champions in the summer. The name of the new strategist is not yet revealed, but it will soon become clear.

C. Ranieri has been in charge of the "Monaco" team since 2012. The Italian led the club from the "Ligue 2" championship to the highest division and secured a spot in the next season's UEFA Champions League.

"I can confirm that Ranieri will leave "Monaco"," V. Vasilyev said at a press conference. "I want to thank Claudio for his great work at this club."

"It was a tough decision. It will never be easy to lead a club from the "Ligue 2" championship to the Champions League.

"I cannot reveal the name of the new coach because we are still negotiating with this person. We want to make the most appropriate decision that would make our fans happy," added the Russian.
