After this news, many speculated about certain situations where the referee will decide to show a blue color and punish a player for 10 minutes. The first to report on the situation was "Telegraph," clarifying the rule regarding goalkeepers.
According to one of the most famous English newspapers, teams whose goalkeepers are punished with a blue card will find themselves in a very uncomfortable situation.
Teams will either have to replace the punished goalkeeper with another goalkeeper, without the possibility of substitution, or have an outfield player stand in goal for ten minutes. Recently, there was such an example with Kyle Walker, who briefly defended the goal in the Champions League against "Leipzig."
From next summer, trials of blue cards will begin in lower leagues.
