The Italian football trio Nicolo Fagioli, Sandro Tonali, and Nicolo Zaniolo got themselves into hot water.

At the beginning of October, information leaked that these promising Italians were regularly involved in sports betting. Players who violated football regulations came under police scrutiny. Zaniolo and Tonali had to leave Italy's national team camp after questioning before preparing for the European Championship qualifiers.

The newspaper "Corriere" reported that Sandro Tonali acknowledges his gambling addiction. He tearfully admitted his problem to his family.

Currently, Newcastle's defender is seeking help from specialists, including a therapist, according to the Italian media. There have been examples on social media of the player's suspicious actions in attempting to win one bet or another.

Meanwhile, Nicolo Fagioli, who was caught earlier, also has a history. He even wanted to admit his guilt earlier and cooperate with institutions overseeing these illegal actions.

Since Fagioli's bets were not related to the Juventus club, he should avoid a 5-year ban. If he cooperates with the police, he could receive only a 1.5-year ban instead of the planned 3 years.

The Italian media reports that Nicolo Zaniolo was also deeply involved in gambling. However, in this situation, his lawyer Gianluca Tognozzi denies the information.

"Nicolo never gambled. He told me that. It's possible that he played poker or blackjack on illegal websites without knowing them. We will clarify everything soon," said G. Tognozzi.

There is suspicion of illegal betting involving a fourth player, AS Roma defender Nicola Zalewski.
