The team from Moscow acquired Czech defensive midfielder Radoslav Kovac from the team in Prague, who signed a four-year contract with the Russian team.

The 25-year-old Czech passed the team's medical examination yesterday, and should finalize all contract formalities by tomorrow. Over the weekend, the "Spartak" team will play their first Russian Premier League match of the season at their home stadium against a team from Moscow. It is said that R. Kovac could already take to the field then.

Since 2003, this midfielder has represented the Czech team "Sparta," scoring three goals in 46 matches. Before that, he played for the team "Sigma Olomouc."

In 2002, Radoslav Kovac, who has been playing professional football since he was 16, won the European Under-21 Championship with the Czech national youth team. However, he only made his debut for the Czech national team last October in the World Cup qualifying match against Romania.

Aside from R. Kovac, the "Spartak" team was also bolstered by Czech national team player Martin Jiranek, young Russian talents Evgeny Shpet and Dmitry Khomich, and a player from the Latvian national team.
