The last day of the European Championship group stage gifted football fans with a true flood of goals. In four matches, a total of 18 goals were scored (Slovakia - Spain 0:5, Sweden - Poland 3:2, Germany - Hungary 2:2, Portugal - France 2:2) which became a record for the tournament of the Old Continent. The previous achievement was set over 20 years ago. Back then, during the "Euro 2000" championship, national teams celebrated accurate shots 14 times in a single day. On June 21, the following results were recorded: Yugoslavia - Spain 3:4, Slovenia - Norway 0:0, Denmark - Czech Republic 0:2, France - Netherlands 2:3. Also included in the top five most productive days are: June 16, 1996 - 13 goals (Scotland - Switzerland 1:0, Netherlands - England 1:4, France - Bulgaria 3:1, Romania - Spain 1:2). July 6, 1960 - 12 goals (France - Yugoslavia 4:5, Czechoslovakia - USSR 0:3). June 19, 1996 - 12 goals (Russia - Czech Republic 3:3, Italy - Germany 0:0, Croatia - Portugal 0:3, Turkey - Denmark 0:3).
