25-year-old German national team midfielder Mesut Ozil has been recognized as the best football player of the country in 2013, according to the German Football Association (DFB).
Winning this nomination for the third year in a row, Mesut Ozil, who plays for London's Arsenal, received a whopping 30% of the votes.
In second place was national team captain Philipp Lahm, who received 17.5% of the votes, and in third place was forward Thomas Mueller with 13.7% of the votes.
In 2013, M. Ozil scored 3 goals and made 4 assists in six matches for the German national team in the 2014 World Cup European zone qualifiers.
