"Manchester City" coach Manuel Pellegrini was disappointed by the decision of Belgian national team coach Marc Wilmots to include defender Vincent Kompany in the national team squad.
According to the Chilean, his club player has not yet fully recovered from an injury.
"The player is still recovering from a calf injury and we hope he will fully recover in the coming weeks. Vincent cannot represent Belgium," the coach feared.
"Of course, I cannot prevent him from traveling if the player received a call-up. However, if he cannot play, I hope it will be so. Kompany is an important player and should be with his teammates. Belgium can achieve important results during the European Championship."
Next week, the Belgians will play against the national teams of Israel and Andorra.
