M.Sarri: "Misunderstanding Occurred"

On Sunday evening at the "Carabao" Cup final in England, Chelsea fell to Manchester City after a penalty shootout, and the 24-year-old goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga of the London team stood out with a very strange behavior, according to lrytas.lt

Approaching the penalty shootout from eleven meters, coach Mauricio Sarri decided to sit his pupil on the bench and let the 37-year-old veteran Willy Caballero finish the match. However, the substitution did not happen, as Kepa Arrizabalaga remained standing on the field and did not go towards the reserve bench, causing a real commotion. The team's coach Sarri, infuriated, walked from place to place and no longer knew where to turn.

After the match, both the player and the coach rushed to put out the fire. "It's a pity we didn't win the title. We fought against a great team. We will have to continue working to be stronger. I regret the scenes created after the match. There was a misunderstanding, I really had no intention of disobeying the coach's decisions. The coach thought I couldn't continue playing, and I tried to show that everything was fine until the doctors pass the information to the substitutes' bench," explained the player. He was seconded by M. Sarri himself, although he did not show anger during the match.

"I misunderstood the situation and everything became clear when the medics returned to the substitutes' bench. I have no complaints or problems," he said.
