Lithuanian national team defender continues to play very successfully in the second-tier Serie B division in Italy. In the fifth round match against Bologna, he scored a goal to help the team secure a draw and maintain at least fifth place.
Although it was already the fifth round match, the team played their fourth game as Serie B had to cancel the third round matches this season due to various problems. On Saturday, they faced Bologna, who had suffered two defeats so far, at home.
In the first half, the Lithuanian player of the home team received a yellow card for a rough foul, but no goals were scored. In the 58th minute, the visitors took the lead after a shot by C. Belucci, but just a minute later, M. Stankevičius defeated G. Pagliuca and equalized the score.
For the Lithuanian player, this was his second goal of the season, and with about 20 minutes left until the end of the match, he almost scored a third goal, but the long shot was slightly off target. Other Brescia players also missed opportunities to score, so both teams shared a point.
Meanwhile, another "Lithuanian" club, Avellino, where he played from the 74th minute, suffered a two-goal deficit against Modena in an away match and remained with a single point, sharing the second-to-last position with Catanzaro.
